I’m back to blogging again! After a busy summer of weddings, vacations, and site updates I will be catching up on past sessions and weddings I’ve been working on over the last few months. Today I bring to you Jon and Melissa’s Manhattan Beach Engagement. Of all of the beaches locations I’ve shot at, I have to say shooting around the Manhattan Beach Pier is my favorite. Something about the way the sun sets amidst the huge pillars that hold up the pier, and the overall laid-back vibe of this city is just the perfect setting for a romantic session.
Some couples may think that an engagement session is just something they need to ‘get out of the way’ in the course of wedding planning….a new norm. For my Ericka G. couples, I want it to be an afternoon/evening to get away, to spend quality time together, without having to think about the stresses of wedding planning. I want it to be a fun experience in the course of being a bride and groom -to-be.
I first met Jon and Melissa this past May when Melissa was the Maid-of-honor in another wedding I shot, and when they asked me to be their wedding photographer I happily obliged. These two are so much fun to be around and so in love, which made shooting them a breeze. They happen to live at the beach and love riding their beach cruisers to all the bars and restaurants nearby, so when they wanted to incorporate them into the session I was thrilled. I love when couples personalize their shoot, even in the simplest of ways. Enjoy!
