I’ve been shooting a ton of engagements lately which has me so excited for the remainder of my 2014 weddings and all of 2015! It’s going to be a busy year and although I am almost fully booked for wedding dates, I still have some spots open! All Collections include a complimentary engagement session (yes…for FREE). I love getting to know you before shooting your wedding and it’s a great way for you to get to know me and feel comfortable in front of the camera before the big day!

Just like Michael and Kristi who booked me for their wedding next January, meeting up before hand to practice in front of the camera and to get to know each other, created one heck of a fun evening. Eaton Canyon in Pasadena is so beautiful and we waited until the last hour before closing for the most beautiful light. These two are just so in love and it came across right away as I reviewed photos on the back of my camera throughout the evening. It didn’t take long from the first time Michael laid eyes on Kristi to the time they got engaged to realize they were perfect for each other. I really believe that when you know, YOU KNOW. Nothing was more true for this gorgeous couple. enjoy!

  • 2014 Holiday Mini Sessions - […] are really set on shooting that day I am willing to add more time slots, but be sure to check out Michael + Kristi’s engagement session to see the beauty that is Eaton […]

I shot this sweet Downtown Los Angeles engagement session a few months back and I’m so happy to finally show off more of this stunning couple. I had so much fun with them as we walked around the art’s district, stopping off at the Pie Hole (totally amazing sweet and savory pies!). Jerod is a classically trained pastry chef so they wanted to somehow incorporate their mutual love for all things sweet into their shoot. I love the Pie Hole and recommended stopping in and I’m so glad we did, as the staff was so amazing to us–treating us to whatever we wanted! The streets of Downtown LA are changing so much (especially since I went to school there 8 years ago) and it’s so fun to explore all the new shops and restaurants mixed in with the old artists lofts and alley way artwork.

These two will be eloping later in October and I couldn’t be more thrilled that my friend has found her perfect match! Congrats Jerod and Kelly!! enjoy.

I’m back to blogging again! After a busy summer of weddings, vacations, and site updates I will be catching up on past sessions and weddings I’ve been working on over the last few months. Today I bring to you Jon and Melissa’s Manhattan Beach Engagement. Of all of the beaches locations I’ve shot at, I have to say shooting around the Manhattan Beach Pier is my favorite. Something about the way the sun sets amidst the huge pillars that hold up the pier, and the overall laid-back vibe of this city is just the perfect setting for a romantic session.

Some couples may think that an engagement session is just something they need to ‘get out of the way’ in the course of wedding planning….a new norm. For my Ericka G. couples, I want it to be an afternoon/evening to get away, to spend quality time together, without having to think about the stresses of wedding planning. I want it to be a fun experience in the course of being a bride and groom -to-be.

I first met Jon and Melissa this past May when Melissa was the Maid-of-honor in another wedding I shot, and when they asked me to be their wedding photographer I happily obliged. These two are so much fun to be around and so in love, which made shooting them a breeze. They happen to live at the beach and love riding their beach cruisers to all the bars and restaurants nearby, so when they wanted to incorporate them into the session I was thrilled. I love when couples personalize their shoot, even in the simplest of ways. Enjoy!

The second time I met Melissa I was 8 months pregnant. With her own newborn, Lily in tow, we sat at Starbucks and chatted for hours…mostly about childbirth and newborns, and of course her impending wedding. We bonded instantly and I just knew that her wedding day would be one I couldn’t wait to be a part of. See, the first time I met Melissa, her fiancé Ben was a groomsmen in a wedding I was shooting and though we didn’t get to speak much that day, I’m always so thankful when I am referred by a previous bride and groom. Especially when I’m referred an incredible couple like Ben and Melissa, who little did I know, picked one of my favorite venue’s EVER. Leo Carrillo ranch is seriously beautiful and if you ever find yourself in Carlsbad, it’s open to the public and FULL of peacocks. They were gorgeous, and noisy, and always trying to get their own time on camera (which of course I didn’t have a problem with). Let’s just say they were the other guests at the wedding. I spent my drive home that night re-living the days events, from the rock-paper-scissors during the ceremony to the insanely sweet father-daughter dance between the groom and little Lily. It was just a really great day. I even get to see Ben and Melissa again next spring when I shoot Melissa’s maid-of-honor, Melissa’s wedding! enjoy!
